Creating Jobs Through Support of Small Business
Friday, December 21st, 2012 @ 11:05AM
Small businesses drive employment, growth, and a robust economy. The city’s role is to support them so they can create the jobs that fuel prosperity. Our Mayor has challenged us with bringing 6,000 new jobs to our city and I believe the best way to do this is to support businesses that have already committed their livelihoods to our community, raising their families here, and investing in our future as a city. These established businesses care deeply about the health of our community and they share our desire to make Colorado Springs a world-class city.
So let’s help these businesses to grow, to build their customer base, and to add employees. Let’s commit to making our downtown more vibrant, safe, and a place where families, singles, and seniors want to live, work, shop, and play. I propose that we commit to developing a local economic garden; a place where business experts contribute their time to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit, helping small businesses to grow and thrive. CPAs, graphic designers, website developers, real estate professionals, advertisers,…all experts who can help small businesses to compete, thrive, and become the foundation of growth for Colorado Springs.
