Building a Fiscally Sustainable Government

I will work to create a city government that is fiscally sound — not just for today, but for years to come.
Our nation is experiencing serious financial difficulties, and our leaders continue to increase government spending, without making difficult, but necessary spending cuts. Colorado Springs can do things differently, by working to find efficiencies in our city government.
I believe efficiencies can be made by reigning in pension and healthcare costs, and through innovative collaborations that save money and increase customer service to our citizens. Having worked in the nonprofit community for many years, I have gained invaluable knowledge about the many services provided in our community. I will use my experience and to reach out to those groups that are already doing great things, and create partnerships that best serve our citizens while keeping our city government small and nimble.

I am running for city council because like you, I love Colorado Springs, and I believe we need collaborative leaders with energy, integrity, and innovative ideas, to propel our city forward and out of the status quo, toward becoming a world-class city.
We need thoughtful leadership and a coalition-building council, as we work to solve the many critical issues facing our city and to promote a positive and inclusive climate that attracts business, families, and tourists. I believe my experience and collaborative spirit, along with a true passion for our community -- are what’s needed to promote this vision.
